Simple ceremony
You can hold a simple ceremony at Dewsbury register office or in one of our ceremony rooms at either Town Hall.
Register office weddings
If you simply want to do 'the legal bits', or you're holding a celebratory ceremony at a venue that isn't approved, then you can get married in the register office with the celebrant registrars and two witnesses.
These ceremonies are only available on a Monday morning and take place in a working, but private office, at Dewsbury Town Hall.
This ceremony includes the register office as your venue and the attendance of Celebrant Registrars. For this ceremony type, when giving notice of marriage, please state Kirklees Register Office, Dewsbury, as your venue. Register office weddings are only available at Dewsbury Town Hall.
You plus 2 weddings
Similar to a register office wedding with only the Celebrant Registrars and two witnesses present, but your wedding will take place in one of our Town Hall ceremony rooms at either Huddersfield Town Hall or Dewsbury Town Hall. You plus 2 ceremonies take place on Monday mornings only and are restricted to the couple and two witnesses only.
This includes the ceremony room as your venue and the attendance of Celebrant Registrars. For this ceremony type, when giving your notice of marriage or civil partnership, please state Huddersfield or Dewsbury Town Hall as your venue.
Costs and what's included
For each of these ceremonies, you will be provided with choices of legal vows and ring vows, however, there will be no readings, music or other personalised elements included in the ceremony.
Children of any age, unless they are over 16 and are chosen to be one of the two witnesses at your ceremony, or photographers cannot attend additionally.
The cost for these ceremonies is currently £46.
