Book or reschedule a ceremony

Choosing a date or time

Once you have chosen your venue you need to book your registrar for your ceremony date and time, or book your whole ceremony if it's taking place in one of our Town Hall ceremony rooms. To check our availability, or to reschedule an existing booking you can contact our ceremonies team.

Most ceremonies cannot be arranged in less than 10 weeks. If you live within the Kirklees District and need to arrange an urgent ceremony due to exceptional circumstances, this can be arranged. You will need to provide detailed information as to your circumstances and you may be asked to supply documentary evidence to support your request. You can use our online form to contact the ceremonies team about a marriage or civil partnership query to arrange this, you will need to select the 'urgent ceremony' option.

Rescheduling a booking

If you do reschedule your ceremony it will be subject to availability and a booking fee. You can find our most up to date fees and how to pay

You can use our online form to contact the ceremonies team about a marriage or civil partnership query and reschedule your booking.

Foreign nationals

If you are a foreign national, before you can be married or form a civil partnership in England or Wales you and your partner must give notice together of your intention to the Superintendent Registrar in the District where one of you lives. We highly recommend you only book a ceremony once you have a confirmed notice appointment with your local register office. We would also recommend that the ceremony date you choose is more than 70 days after the date of your notice appointment.
