Gift shop and refreshments

Gift shop

Located within the historic Visitor Centre courtyard, the Oakwell Shop is a great place to find wonderful 'not on the high street' items. It has a superb range of stock from local artisan suppliers, including many that reflect the history of the hall and the beauty of the country park, as well as essential supplies of snacks, cold drinks and ice cream.

Some of our many highlights include stylish 17th century style ceramics by local potter John Hudson (as displayed in Oakwell Hall) and a range of beautiful wildlife mugs, prints and cards by Holmfirth artist Joanne T Kell. You can also find chic home, kitchen and garden accessories, artists' print cards, stationery and books.

Yorkshire foodies will love our range of locally produced goodies including some very locally made honey from Outback Beez who have hives at Oakwell, Brandy Snaps from Wrights of Brighouse; and delicious hand-made fudge and cinder toffee from Farrah's of Harrogate. There are unusual and rare jams and jellies from Farmhouse Kitchen in Sowerby Bridge and also some of the best old fashioned retro sweets around!

For children there is a huge range of traditional and contemporary toys and games to choose from for both indoor and outdoor play, as well as children's jewellery, books and gemstones.

Refreshments

The Oaktree Cafe is located near the Hall and gardens in a restored cottage, and offers a delicious selection of speciality hot drinks, home-made soup, freshly made hot and cold sandwiches and a daily special hot meal, as well as ice creams and fresh cakes.

The Oaktree Cafe is run by locally based company Food 4 Thought who pride themselves on providing good quality, fresh locally-sourced food.

Open daily between 10:00-16:30.

Toilets and baby changing

Our toilets are located in the Visitor Centre courtyard close by the Hall. These include baby changing facilities and a fully accessible toilet.

Accessibility information

Both our onsite car parks have disabled spaces. Our ground floor is fully accessible, but due to the historic building, access for wheelchair users and those with mobility issues cannot be provided to upper floor. Stairs, low doorways and uneven surfaces may also limit access. We have a Large-print guide available.

There is access to gardens via ramps for mobility scooter and wheelchair users. For access to the Park please see Easier Access Map for low gradient routes without steps.

Fully accessible toilets are available in the Visitor Centre.

We are members of the VAQAS scheme and all staff receive disability/equality training.

For full details please see our access statement.
