We would not be able to offer all the wonderful things we do without our brilliant team of volunteers. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers so if you have a spare hour or two and are interested in helping at your local library pleas get in touch.
By volunteering you can enhance the lives of others by supporting the library service to: increase reading and literacy; improve digital access and literacy; support everyone to achieve their full potential; support everyone to live healthier and happier lives; enable greater prosperity; build stronger, more resilient communities; offer everyone access to culture and the opportunity to be creative.

Kirklees Local Studies Library holds the principal collection of local and family history material for the Kirklees area. This includes books, photographs, maps, newspapers, and other resources.
