Community Right to Challenge
The Community Right to Challenge allows voluntary and community groups, charities, parish councils and two or more employees of the council to bid to run a local authority service where they believe they can do so differently and better. This may be the whole service or part of a service.
Expressions of Interest (EOI)
Groups need to submit a written expression of interest. Kirklees Council will consider and respond to expressions of interest which, if accepted, will trigger a procurement exercise for that service. The interested group will then take part in the procurement exercise, alongside others.

Current expression of interest
Translation and interpretation service
The council intends to consider the provision of its translation and interpretation service (Community Languages) by an organisation established by 2 or more council employees.
This is currently an internal council service which provides translation and interpretation to other internal services, as well as other public sector organisations within the region.
Any decisions will be made by the council's cabinet.
