Representations for consideration should be made in writing to arrive no later than Friday 12 July 2019 to the Electoral Services Manager, Kirklees Council, 3-5 Albion Street, Huddersfield HD1 2NG or by email: electoral.registration@kirklees.gov.uk

What happened?

The closing date for submissions and comments in connection with the review of polling districts and polling stations was 12 July 2019. A number of comments were put forward for consideration and the (Acting) Returning Officer has made a number of recommendations and proposals resulting from these responses.

Relevant ward members have been informed of the proposed changes and these will now be presented to the next Corporate Governance and Audit Committee on 13 September for approval.

A summary of the changes is attached.

What difference did the work make?

The Returning Officer's recommendations were approved by the Corporate Governance and Audit Committee on 15 November 2019.

The Review is now complete. Further details of the recommendations are available from Electoral Services, 3-5 Albion Street, Huddersfield HD1 2NG.

Changes to polling districts took effect from 1 December 2019 and any changes to polling stations will take effect at any future elections to be held in the area.
