What happened?

100 people completed the survey monkey questionnaire
In looking at need the survey showed the top 3 as:

45.7% of people cared for people with a long term condition
43.6% of people cared for people with a mental health condition
32% of people cared for older people
people may have more than 1 need.

The survey showed numbers of people who used Carers Count and who didn't, reasons why and what carers liked about the service.

It gave details of times carers wished to access services and how they preferred to be communicated with.

What difference did the work make?

Carers Count put into place stress sessions coming in Feb, evening group to help with carers impacted by a loved ones attempt at suicide.
Mini group consultations to which we listened and got an art teacher and a massage lady.
Organised days out which include Whitby , Ponderosa and Harrogate xmas market .
Gave more specialised advice regarding benefits.
Fed back to carers about the other services we can offer such as advocacy for carers, information and advice sessions and the care act.
Also to come shortly is a specialist drug and alcohol support group for carers with information and emotional support within a group setting this will also be run early evening as working carers have asked for more groups on an evening.
