Longwood Mechanics Hall is a multi purpose community building available for hire to organised groups and individuals. The Hall may be hired for one off events or regular events. Facilities include a 113 sq m sprung dance floor to seat 120 people with adjacent 50 sq m area stage and various rooms from 15 sq m to 30 sq m. Kitchen. Library and internet access.

Art and Craft Show the first Saturday in September

Village Show - horticulture and handicrafts the 1st Saturday in October

Santa's Grotto the first Saturday in December.

Coffee Shop
We are pleased to announce the opening of the Longwood Village Coffee Shop.
Opening times
Monday 10am till 2.30pm
Wednesday 10am till 2.30pm
Friday 10am till 2.30pm

Lunchtime menu, light snacks coffees and teas in a friendly community-run cafe in a true community-owned building.

The Longwood Mechanics Hall was built in 1858 as a home for Longwood Mechanics Institue and has remained as a community building for nearly 150 years. We, under the Longwood Village Group, are currently involved in restoring the Hall to full use after years of neglect and underuse.
