What is in a candidate nomination pack

The pack includes:

  • your nomination papers
  • information about the election, including deadlines, nomination submission rules and a timetable of key events.

The dates and times when you can submit your papers each day are given in the nomination pack.

Briefing sessions

Pre-nomination briefing sessions

A pre-nomination briefing session is available to potential candidates on request. Contact Electoral Services if you wish to arrange a briefing or want to discuss the nomination process.

Post-nomination briefing session

A further candidates' briefing session will take place after the close of nominations where the Acting Returning Officer, Electoral Services Manager and the Police will share guidance and information on a range of matters including:

  • polling stations
  • postal vote opening and checking procedures
  • verification and count processes
  • integrity and security of the election.

This will take place on Wednesday 20 November 2019 at 5.30 pm.
