Walk or cycle

The Dewsbury Heritage Trail explores connections to the Yorkshire Ripper, Mr Men's Roger Hargreaves, and textile history. The Spen Valley Greenway is 7 miles of traffic-free, flat pedalling along a disused railway line.

If you want to see the largest new woodland in the north then Dewsbury Country Park features 1000 metres of footpath, including an accessible route for wheelchairs and prams.
