Kirklees Transcription Service - Kirklees Libraries
Kirklees Transcription Service provides support, information and advice to those with sight loss or who have difficulty accessing the written word. Kirklees Transcription Service works to remove the barriers that face those with visual impairments, allowing them to continue with the activities they enjoy and regain their independence. The team support each person individually, continually providing creative solutions and an innovative service.
The Prevent team at Kirklees Council are working to prevent radicalisation and extremism in Kirklees. Their projects are centred on keeping the community safe and reducing discrimination. Their 'Think Project' gave school children the opportunity to discuss stereotypes and misinformation in an open environment, helping over 500 young people understand the danger of stereotyping and know how to think critically about the information they receive, be that prejudices or fake news.
Rawthorpe & Dalton Library and Information Centre - Kirklees Libraries
The team at Rawthorpe & Dalton Library and Information Centre go above and beyond to deliver a friendly and inclusive library service to meet the needs of the community. The library support volunteer-led groups and host many community events, ensuring that they are welcoming to all ages, genders and ethnicities.
Cohesion Team - Kirklees Council
The Cohesion Team at Kirklees Council work to bring local people and communities together. Helping them to find their commonality and understand their differences. By managing tensions, breaking down barriers and listening to residents, the Cohesion team are empowering our communities to make the change they want to see. They are creating a shared belonging in Kirklees which is fostering growth for our future.
