Children
& Young People Plan
The Children & Young People Plan sets out our ambitions
for improving the lives of children, young people and families
in Kirklees.
We have consulted widely with children, young people, parents
and carers and those who work with them to draw up a picture
of needs and help us identify priorities for improvement.
The Local Public Service Board for Children, Young People
& Families (which represents Kirklees Council, Health,
Police, Schools and the voluntary sector) is responsible for
making sure we make the improvements set out in the plan.
They are committed to developing new and better ways of services
working together and involving children, young people and
families in planning and reviewing what we do.

Joint Commissioning Framework

A very broadly-based multi-agency group drawn from the statutory,
voluntary, and independent sectors have produced this Framework
over the last year. It has been the subject of widespread
consultation throughout the process of its preparation, with
children and young people, with parents, and latterly with
organisations through a targeted consultation process between
October and December 2006. A substantial issue has emerged
about the value of play, and what we need to do in Kirklees
to support its development.

School Organisation Plan Data and Information 2004-2009
In line with revised DfES regulations and guidance issued in May 2003, this document provides an update to the School Organisation Plan 2003-2008.
Section 52 budget statements
Local authorities are required under section 52 of the School
Standards and Framework Act 1998 (external site) to prepare
a budget statement before the beginning of each financial year
ie by 31 March. After the end of that financial year they are
required to prepare an outturn statement. Section 52 gives the
Secretary of State power to make regulations prescribing the
form of these statements, their content, timing and manner of
their publication.
