Web Development Team - June 2008
web.development@kirklees.gov.ukCouncillors (or members as they are known) have to comply with a code of conduct. If you think that they have done something which is in breach of that code, you can make a complaint to the Kirklees Council Standards Committee.
The Standards Committee comprises of:- 5 Kirklees Council members
- 4 Independent members
- 3 Parish Council members
The Chair of the Standards Committee is Mr Phil Marshall, an independent member.
The Standards Committee's role, among other things, is to assess and if necessary investigate and determine any complaints made about members. There are strict regulations setting out how they do that, which are based on statutory provisions. This is to ensure that complaints are dealt with fairly.
