Events and festivals
- May: Pennine Festival of Music and Dance, featuring top names in folk, ceilidhs, performances, workshops and events at venues throughout the village.
- July: Holmfirth Art Week including numerous exhibitions and sales.
- Monthly: Farmer's market where everything is grown, raised, baked or caught locally.

Things to see and do
- Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition, plus other Summer Wine settings including Nora Batty's steps and
Sid's Café.
- Art and craft galleries, including the gallery of Ashley Jackson, famed Yorkshire landscape artist.
- Craft and Treasure Market, each Saturday (March-December), featuring hand-crafted goods, antiques,
collectables and memorabilia.
- Picturedrome, former home of the Bamforth family who made early silent films and saucy seaside
postcards, this building is now a restored cinema. See examples of the postcards in the upstairs, or purchase
reproductions from the Tourist Information Centre.
- Crag Rats Theatre - catch a performance of theatre, music or comedy at this studio theatre.
- Take a stroll on the Holme Valley Riverside Walk a 6 mile route from Magdale near Honley, through Holmfirth and
onto Digley.
- The national Pennine Cycleway runs through Holmfirth so if you're feeling active cycle to your hearts content!
