- February: IMBOLC Celtic Fire Festival including fireworks, theatre, fire sculptures and more.
- April: Cuckoo day, celebrating the cuckoo famed in local legend, and featuring maypoles, morris dancing, ceilidhs and a craft fair.
- October: Marsden Jazz Festival, featuring modern and traditional artistes.

Things to see and do
- Enjoy a walk by, or take a boat on the restored Huddersfield Narrow Canal which runs through Marsden.
- Standedge Visitor Centre - where the canal enters the longest, deepest and highest canal tunnel in Britain.
- Visit the Mechanics Institute, said to be the finest village institute of its kind and now home to a Library
and the Mikron Theatre Company.
- Marsden Moor Estate - 5000 acres of wild moorland managed by the National Trust.
- Marsden Health Centre - better known as Skelthwaite Health Centre in the TV drama Where the Heart Is.
