The scenery and timeless towns and villages of Kirklees are familiar to millions of television viewers. Holmfirth is perhaps best known as the home of Compo, Nora and Cleggy in Last of the Summer Wine, whilst the Colne Valley plays host to the fictional 'Skelthwaite' of Where the Heart Is fame.

Its not just the small screen, the Bamforths of Holmfirth were pioneers of motion pictures long before Hollywood, although are perhaps more famous for their saucy seaside postcards and Kirklees is home to a host of local stars who have made their name as the stars of stage and screen.
