Food festivals
For the gourmet visitor what better way to whet the appetite than a trip to a continental market offering a
mouth-watering display of speciality cheeses, meats and wines? For a taste of the continent, try traditional
dishes freshly prepared right before you from a cooking stall.
The Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival in August is the setting for a real ale and cider tasting evening with
live music. Cooking demonstrations feature throughout the week of the festival offering a flavour of Asian,
European, and Caribbean cuisine. Stallholders sell their wares ranging from speciality preserves and locally
produced wines to gluten-free products and extraordinary cheeses! If you are feeling peckish, try some of the hot
dishes prepared on site.
Continental markets in Kirklees
The continental market held in Huddersfield in May offers a range of fresh European food and drink, as well as
luxury leather goods and jewellery. Fresh bread and cakes baked on site providing tempting aromas that are hard
to resist.
To satisfy your sweet tooth, choose from Belgian chocolates, delicious fruit tarts, hot waffles and crepes. Treat
yourself to continental confectionery and sample authentic French fruit tarts and pastries.

Cheeses on display at the Huddersfield Food and Drink festival have included the unusual Ruby Gold (rhubarb cheese) and liquorice cheese!
