Trekking across moorland

Walking

Whether you're after a short stroll or a day's hike, it's easy to put your best foot forward across Kirklees. From short town trails, to strolls around charming valleys and hikes across the Pennine moors, there's something for everyone. Waymarked trails include the Colne Valley Circular and Holme Valley Riverside walk. For the very adventurous, try out the Standedge Trail over Marsden Moor or the 72-mile Kirklees Way around the district.

The search facility below will help you plan your perfect outing - you can search by area or ability. If you prefer guided walks, the National Trust runs a series of guided walks throughout the year or request a copy of 'Wild About Countryside' for guided walks for all abilities.
