St Patrick's Parade
This family event has continued to grow in popularity since its inception in 2001, each year's parade improving on
the last.
A parade of themed floats and top and tailed Irish bands through Huddersfield Town Centre is the festival's
highlight.
With majorettes, Irish dancers, traditional and modern music, disco, street entertainers, fancy dress artistes,
Leprechauns, Molly Malone and much more Irish fare, including merchandise stalls, booklets, rosettes, hats and
flags - in short, something for everyone.
Huddersfield Literature Festival
Organised through the English department of Huddersfield University, the festival supports and showcases new and
emerging writers, offering a platform to promote new work as well as the opportunity to attend intensive writing
workshops.
Events are held across the town, offering a mix of genres including poetry, short stories, novels and performance.
