Chosen layout of St George's Square - July 2005

In July 2005, we asked you for your views on the future use of St George's Square. The chosen scheme for the square, shown in the sketch to the right, reroutes Railway Street in front of Britannia Buildings creating a large pedestrian area stretching from the station to John William Street.

Access to Railway Street and the square will be limited to buses, taxis and delivery vehicles, with public access to the station car park and drop-off point via John William Street.

More bus routes will travel through the square supported with the addition of two new bus stops.
