Batley Town Hall
Batley Town Hall opened in 1853 and is situated in the centre of Batley over looking the towns Market Square. This flexible building hosts a variety of events and activities from concerts to shows and from meetings to community groups.

The Town Hall offers a selection of meeting and functions rooms. The atmospheric main hall can seat up to 288 people theatre style.

History


Batley Town Hall was built in 1853 as the town's Mechanics Institute and paid for by a public subscription fund which raised £2,000. The Institute's aim was to help young men and women improve their education. To this end it provided a large library, classes in elementary writing, reading and arithmetic, a newspaper room and an art and musical appreciation class which led to the founding of the Batley Choral Society and Batley Philharmonic Society.

Access

Everyone is welcome to Batley Town Hall and we will do whatever we can to ensure you have an enjoyable visit. Staff are available to help, so please ask us if you need any assistance.

Parking & Dropping Off - There are three parking spaces for blue badge holders adjacent to the Town Hall on Market Place.
Lifts Access - A lift is available for patrons who wish to access the main hall and function rooms on the 1st floor. Please note the lift will not be available in the event of an evacuation.
Wheelchair Users - The Town Hall is accessible to wheelchair users with a ramp at the front of the building and dedicated concert seating is available in the rear stalls.

An induction loop and toilet facilities for those with disabilities are also available within Batley Town Hall. We also welcome guidedogs, please ask if you need help you your seat.
