We are interested in what you think about this web site. Your comments and suggestions help us to improve the site, making it better for all our users. You can send us your comments at any time by using our feedback form.

We also hold usability testing sessions to find out more about people’s experience of using this site. These sessions are particularly useful when we have some new pages that we’d like to assess. Testing helps us to find out whether the site is easy to use, and what we can do to make it better.

Here is some of your feedback about the site, and information about what changes we have made in response:

I couldn't find information about the availability of compost bins.

Site survey participant, April 2008.

We have added a new page about composting, including information about a reduced price compost bin offer.

I don't think you should have to register just to browse the jobs.

Site survey participant, April 2008.

You don't need to register for the jobs area of the site if you don't want to - you can still search through all the jobs, and get application packs as usual. You do get more options if you log in, but registration is completely optional.

I am looking for old photos of Dewsbury.

Site survey participant, March 2008.

You can find thousands of old photos of the Kirklees area on the Kirklees Image Archive web site. You can also order prints of the images online.

I want to know the days my green bin and glass recycling box is to be collected this year.

Which week will my glass recycling box be collected (week c, but i don't know which week we're on)?

Site survey participants, March 2008.

Our bin collections search now includes the next collection dates for grey bins, green bins and glass boxes. It also shows the dates for road sweeping in your area.

I just wanted to have a look to see what kind of jobs are available in Kirklees Council and you cant browse a list you have to search for specific jobs.

Site survey participant, March 2008.

To see the full list of jobs, choose 'Any Category' in the job vacancy search box, then select the 'Search >' button. Alternatively, you can download our vacancy bulletin.

What can you put in your green bin?

Site survey participant, February 2008.

We have added a new page about green wheelie bins, including details of which items you can put in your green bin.

I was looking for places to dispose of garden waste and cardboard. As a newcomer to the area i would have liked to find a map, so i could see how close the sites were.

Site survey participant, February 2008.

You can see local recycling facilities on a map by visiting our 'Where's my nearest?' pages. We also have information about the Kirklees waste and recycling sites. For garden waste, we offer free collections from your home. You can order a garden waste collection online.

...the way in which the green agenda is confused with environmental health is most unhelpful. The site structure needs a good tidy up and much clearer signposting.

Site survey participant, September 2007.

We have created a new section about climate change and green living. You'll find lots of links to this information from our A to Z and throughout this site. We know that green issues are important to many of our users, and we'll continue to work on improving this content and making it easier for you to find.

It would be really useful to be able to print off your press releases.

Email received, 17th February 2007.

All pages on the Kirklees website can be printed. However, we have added a 'Print version' button to our press releases so you can print them without the site navigation and sidebar.
