We are always making improvements to this site, and finding new ways to provide information and services
electronically. This page shows a few examples of our current and recent projects. We hope this will give you a
good idea of what kind of work we do, and show you how this work benefits people in Kirklees.
If you have any questions about our work, or if you'd like to suggest any improvements to our services,
please use our Feedback form to let us know.
All Councillors
We've developed new profile pages for Kirklees councillors. The pages use RSS to draw in useful information about your councillor and your ward, such as
meetings, local organisations, photos, videos and local news. |
INtouch mobile
We have created a site for mobile users. If your mobile phone can connect to the internet, you can now use many council services on INtouch mobile. Text
'mobile' to 0780 000 2221 and we'll send you the link. |
KicK
KicK (Kids in care - Kirklees) is a web site for looked after children in Kirklees. It includes interactive guides to children's homes, videos, music and
useful advice. |
Kirklees winter
We're working with our highways service to improve our online information about winter issues such as road closures and gritting. You can get involved by
asking questions and sharing your own information. |
Learning disabilities
We've designed a web site for people with a learning disability who live in Kirklees. The information has been provided by the Learning Disabilities
Partnership Board. |
Local 2.0
We are working with the Young Foundation on the Local 2.0 neighbourhood media project. We are using blogs, photo sharing and other Web 2.0 tools in two Kirklees
neighbourhoods:

Report it on a map
We're developing new map-based reporting facilities so you will be able to show us exactly where something is that you want to tell us about. The first things
you will see on the site are streetlight and abandoned vehicle reports, and we'll follow up with much more. |
Social bookmarking
We have added links to several popular social bookmarking sites to the foot of each page. You can use these sites to keep track of your favourite pages and
share links with your friends. |
Telehealth and telecare
INtouch kirklees are working to support people who have long term health conditions, in partnership with NHS Kirklees. We're providing
information and services for older patients via digital TV and the Nintendo Wii. |

Webcasting
We are webcasting some Kirklees Council meetings, so you can watch these meetings in real time on your computer or mobile device. |
Who owns my neighbourhood?
We've created this new service in partnership with local developer Thumbprint Co-operative. We want to make it easier
for people to get things done in the place where they live and to encourage a sense of responsibility within local neighbourhoods.
