By now you will be aware that as part of the Government's drive to make tenant's responsible for their own financial affairs the tenant will receive the Local Housing Allowance (L.H.A.) and you are dependant on them using it to pay your rent. Even if your tenants have bank accounts (and some may not) you need to act now.
If your tenants choose to have their L.H.A. paid into a bank account your income may be at risk. The money cannot be ring fenced to pay the rent and could be lost into overdrafts, standing orders and direct debit payments or, the tenant might just fancy a night out or worse still use the money to hold a party in your property!
