Benefits Payments and Tax
- Payments to foster carers
An allowance is provided to cover; household costs, food, clothes, travel, school dinners and any other things that may be required to look after a child.
- Payments to adopters
Adopters do not generally receive payment. However payments can be made available to assist with the adoption of hard to place children. - Child Benefit (external)
Adopters may apply for child benefit. Foster carers receive the equivalent amount in with their payment from the local authority - Income Tax
