Tigersharks
Tigershark swim squads are a link between learn to swim and competitive swimming. Swimmers must be 7 to 10 year old and must be able to swim at least 200m.Trial Squad
A transition from Tigersharks to Yorkshire qualifying level. Swimmers will be 8 to 10 years old. It is recommended that the swimmers attend a minimum of 3 to 4 sessions per week in order to have the best opportunity of meeting the requirements needed to move to Entry Squad. If the requirements are not met swimmers will be directed to local clubs to continue their swimming.Entry Squad
For swimmers who have Yorkshire qualifying times. Swimmers in this squad are 9 to 12 years old. It is recommended that swimmers attend a minimum of 4 sessions per week when they start the squad and be attending 6 sessions per week regularly by the age of 11. If the swimmers achieve the set criteria they will move into Advanced Squad. Swimmers not meeting the criteria will be directed to their local swimming club.Advanced Squad
For swimmers who have North East England qualifying times. The squad is for 11 to 16 year olds. It is recommended that swimmers attend a minimum of 6 sessions per week to ensure they achieve the standards to stay in the squad. Providing swimmers meet the criteria they will progress onto Senior Squad. If swimmers are unable to achieve the times set swimmers will either be directed to the local swimming club or into Pre-Masters.Senior Squad
For swimmers who have 5 North East England qualifying times or be within 5% of a national qualifying time. All swimmers must attend a minimum of 7 sessions per week to maintain a place in this squad.Pre-Masters Squad
For swimmers aged 14 to 18 and is for swimmers who may not have achieved the qualifying times for Advanced or Senior Squad but still wish to swim competitively. These swimmers must also be members of a local swimming club.Masters Squad
Adult swimmers who train regularly and compete for a club in any aquatic discipline.Disability swimming
For children from 6 years old. Beginners or improver - places will be allocated dependent on availability according to standard.
