Introduction

Oakwell Hall boasts stunning views and gardens, to make your wedding day perfect.

From the very first moment you come to see us until your actual wedding day our dedicated Venue Officer will be with you every step of the way.

We offer excellent value for money and we won’t add surcharges to any other charges you may incur for linen, flowers, etc.

We are licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships. Come and visit for a no obligation chat and to look at the facilities we have to offer.

The venue

Oakwell Hall is a Grade I Listed Elizabethan Manor House furnished as a family home of the late 17th Century.

The hall with its restored period garden is set in 110 acres of Green Flag Country Park.

And what manor house wouldn’t be complete without its very own ghost who may make an appearance on your special day.

The Great Hall

Pair of wedding rings

Wedding ceremonies take place in the oak panelled Great Hall on the ground floor of the House.

Ceremonies can take place on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am, or Monday to Friday at 10.30 am. The Great Hall will comfortably hold 50 guests for your ceremony, if you require more seating please discuss with the Venue Officer, who will try to accommodate your needs.

The Great Hall will be decorated on your Wedding Day with silk flowers, and a complimentary floral arrangement in your choice of colours.

Following the ceremony the rooms are available for your wedding photography (only Bride, Groom and Photographer allowed in the rooms due to the nature of the furniture) and the beautifully restored walled garden.

The barn

Three wedding cakes

Oakwell Barn is a restored 19th Century barn and is Grade II Listed, ideally located in the Visitor Centre to the side of Oakwell Hall.

The barn offers an opportunity to hold your Wedding reception in the magnificent rural setting of the Oakwell Hall Country Park.

The barn can accommodate a maximum of 110, this figure is dependent upon the room layout you choose for your function. Please liaise with the Venue Officer for a more accurate figure.

Receptions can run until 11 pm but the barn must be vacated by 11.30 pm.

Parking

There is car parking for up to 50 cars adjacent to the building. Please note that toilet facilities are provided in the courtyard of the Visitor Centre, these toilets are also used by the public and therefore cannot be for the sole purpose of the hirer.

Alcohol

Oakwell Hall does not hold a licence for the sale of alcohol so one must be obtained in advance using an existing licensee (see contact sheet for details of a mobile bar service). You can however supply drinks for your guests free of charge without an additional licence. Please note though that as the courtyard is a public area we would be grateful if your guests did not consume alcohol there until after 5 pm.
