There are many ways to get involved at Oakwell and many reasons for doing so. You might wish to gain news skills, meet new people or help yourself to get fit.
Volunteering in the country park and helping with the maintenance of the site, the gardens and the park’s features couldn’t be easier. The on site ranger team offer volunteering sessions every Thursday and tackle all sorts of tasks from footpath construction to horticulture. Many volunteers have used their skills to improve their job chances and gone on to work in the environmental sector.
The Ranger team also runs volunteering opportunities for young adults. The Young Rangers scheme operates on certain days through the school holidays, pleased contact us for more information.
The other main volunteering opportunity at Oakwell is with the Friends of Oakwell Hall and Country Park. The Friends get involved in a wide range of activities from gardening, helping at events and with activities in the Hall itself.

The Ranger Team can also offer volunteering and team building exercises for corporate clients and other large organisations and have worked successfully with clients such as HBOS, BT, local NHS Trusts and voluntary sector organisations such as Rotarians.
