The Elizabethan manor house has delighted visitors for centuries. Charlotte Bronte visited it in the 19th Century and featured it as 'Fieldhead' the home of the eponymous heroine in her novel Shirley.

The Hall was built in 1583, but is now set out as it would have been in the 1690s. A mixture of authentic and reproduction furnishings from intricately carved four poster beds to pots and cooking utensils in the kitchen provide a real insight into the late 17th Century.
