Creative Events Partners

Arts and Creative Economy Development Unit - June 2011
arts.creativity@kirklees.gov.uk
The Creative Events Partners are a core group of community organisations in Kirklees that receive annual investment from Kirklees Council to run regular arts events and festivals which make a key contribution to the cultural life and economy of the Kirklees district. The programme is managed by the Arts and Creative Economy (ACE) team. The council invests in the selected organisations for three years. The Creative Events Partners are then reviewed.

To become a Creative Events Partner, organisations are assessed, through an application process, on their ability to contribute to the achievement of key actions in Creative Kirklees, the arts and creative development strategy for Kirklees. They are also assessed on whether the organisation is well managed and the artistic quality of their work. Officers take into account the geographical spread of organisations and their events and festivals when deciding on the final portfolio of creative events partners. The current scheme runs from 2011 to 2014.
