Creative Partners

Arts and Creative Economy Development Unit - January 2012
arts.creativity@kirklees.gov.uk

The Creative Partners are key arts organisations in Kirklees that receive annual investment from Kirklees Council. The programme is managed by the ACE Team. The council invests in the selected companies for three years. The Creative Partners are then reviewed. We hope that, through development work and organisational growth, some are ready to leave the programme and others who need investment can then join.

To become a Creative Partner, organisations are assessed, through an application process, on their ability to contribute to the achievement of key priorities in the Kirklees Community Strategy. They are also assessed on whether the organisation is well managed and the artistic quality of their work. Officers take into account the geographical spread of organisations and their work when deciding on the final portfolio of Creative Partners. The current scheme runs from 2010 - 2013.
