Working for Kirklees Council Planning Service offers the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience.

Over 5000 applications are handled by this department, including industrial, town centre and residential applications. Kirklees also boasts over 4500 listed buildings and nearly 60 conservation areas.

As well as regulating developments and conserving our heritage and environment, we work with local people to develop a vision for the future - a framework in which planning decisions are taken.

Our vision is to ensure buildings and the environment in this diverse area are developed in the best interests of the local community.
