Join the Kirklees Readers’ Panel, which is run by Kirklees Council and Kirklees Primary Care Trust, to help us make sure our information is clear and user-friendly.
The Readers’ Panel is a group of people who have volunteered to read new and updated information.
We need members to volunteer to be part of the panel because we want the public to be involved in helping us make sure our information is clear and user-friendly.
It is important to us that we know we are using the right words, in the right way, to get our message across.
Members on the panel are sent information, such as leaflets, DVDs and CDs to read and comment on and are asked to think about:
- how the information is worded
- how it is presented
- whether it answers the questions they would have
All members are free to comment on any aspect of the leaflet that they feel needs improvement or praise.
Whether you read and comment on leaflets that are sent to you is entirely up to you. It might be that you are having a busy time, are on holiday, not feeling well or simply don’t feel like it. You decide whether you want to do it, not us.
You can write your comments on the form provided with the leaflet. You can also make notes directly on the leaflet we send to you.
All comments received will be sent to the original author of the information and taken into consideration.
You can see how we use your comments to improve our information by requesting a copy of the finalised leaflet to be sent to you.
Members will also get the opportunity to meet as a group four times a year, have some lunch and listen to speakers to find out about current and future services that are available to people in Kirklees, for example Kirklees Warm Zone, Patient and Public Involvement, the Fire Safety Service and many more.
