Petitions - Other ways to make your views known

Policy & Governance - JAugust 2011

Petitions are not the only - or necessarily the easiest or quickest - way to resolve an issue or to make your views known. You can also:
  • Contact the relevant council service directly.
  • Contact your local councillor or area committee if you have a concern which relates to your local area or neighbourhood.
  • Contact the Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee to request a scrutiny review of a service or policy.
In addition, the council and all partner organisations in the public sector in Kirklees are committed to exploring different ways to engage with people so that they can influence decisions and help shape how public services are delivered. This commitment is contained in 'Involving Communities: A Partnership Approach for Kirklees' which has been adopted by all partner organisations. If you wish to make a complaint about a council service, then you should instead use the council's complaints process.
