Area committee profiles

Andy Shackleton - August 2011

Information by area committee, e.g. population estimates, recorded crime, employment and unemployment, council tax benefit recipients, welfare benefits and other information. Area committees are local committees of Kirklees Council. All ward councillors are members of their area committee. The committees encourage public services such as the police, health and council services to come together to agree how to solve local problems together. They meet regularly and the meetings are open to the public.

The way area committee profiles are access has changed. New area committee profiles are now available from the Kirklees Observatory. Once on the site, look for the small map on the left hand side of the page. Click on the Area Committees link below the map and select a profile. The Kirklees Observatory is part of the West Yorkshire Observatory. It allows the user to download profiles and tables of statistics, as well as enabling the creation of custom profiles and tables. Profiles are automatically updated with the most current data on the system. Data can also be mapped and displayed as charts. The Kirklees Observatory is also where research resources, documents and reports can be accessed.

You can view and download the March 2011 area committee profiles below, however there will be no more updates of them in this style:
