Super Output Area ID2010 Profiles
Andy Shackleton - April 2011
andy.shackleton@kirklees.gov.uk
Profiles contain maps of Super Output Areas (SOAs) and the data relevant to those areas.
The SOAs are grouped by ward with each profile showing those SOAs which most closely
match the ward; SOAs 'nest' within the old ward boundaries (24 wards in total) but
not the new wards (23 wards). There are between 11 and 15 SOAs shown on each profile.
The data shown for each SOA is the national rank and % rank for the Index of Multiple Deprivation (Overall Index),
each of the seven domains, The Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index, and The Income Deprivation Affecting Older People Index.
The % rank is used to indicate which SOAs are within the most deprived 10% SOAs in England - such SOAs are shaded red on the maps.
If a SOA can be shown to be within the 10% most deprived 'bracket' then this can be a significant factor in bidding for Government monies.
Each wards super output area information is presented as a pdf document. Select by ward, or
click on the image map below.
The ward profiles are in PDF format,
to access them you will need to use Adobe Acrobat viewer.
