Census 2001 information by ward
Andy Shackleton - February 2007
andy.shackleton@kirklees.gov.uk
2001 Census information by the current wards (used for the 10 June 2004 local elections).
Population, ethnic group, religion, limiting long-term illness, health, economic activity and unemployment, employment by industry and occupation, National Statistics Socio-economic Classification, qualifications, household tenure, car ownership and type of accommodation by 2004 Ward, Kirklees, and England and Wales.
There is more ward information to be found on the ONS Neighbourhood Statistics website. However, the information is based on statistical wards which are constructed using a 'best fit' of 2001 Census output areas. This means that the wards used by ONS do not always match electoral wards used in the Kirklees ward profiles.
However, Holme valley North, Holme Valley South and Dewsbury South wards are the same as ONS statistical wards because these wards changed very little in the 2004 boundary changes.
Each ward profile is presented as a pdf document. Select by ward, or

The ward profiles are in PDF format, to access them you will need to use Adobe Acrobat viewer. Advice about Using PDFs.
