Around 50,000 schoolchildren across Kirklees will have the chance to take part in simulated cycling races in the latest sport to be added to those under the Kirklees Youth Games banner. This exciting project is the first event of its kind in Kirklees schools and is set to encourage cyclists of all abilities to get peddling in a bid to improve their own times and those of other cyclists within their schools and across school sports partnerships. It's an ideal way to get started in cycling as well as learn the fun of competitive cycling at the same time.
The programme of simulated races will start in schools during the Summer term with opportunities for others to take part in events during the school holidays in sports centres.
Each school will have champions at the various key stages, who will receive prizes. The school champions will then be brought to compete in a Grand final to find the best young cyclists in Kirklees.
