There are several schemes to help people who would like to own their own home but cannot afford the full market price.
These are called HomeBuy (or shared ownership) and are usually arranged through a housing association.
The HomeBuy schemes vary in their details, but they all involve buying a part share of a property, ranging from 25% to 75%.
You usually pay rent or have a deferred loan on the remaining share. In most cases you can increase the share you own as you can afford it.
HomeBuy properties are for people who have a regular income but cannot afford to buy a home without help.
There are restrictions on who can buy them and you often need to have a local connection to the area.
All HomeBuy properties in West Yorkshire are advertised through a single organisation called my4walls.
You can find more information about the different schemes and see details of all homes currently available on their website.
