Credit unions

Credit unions are non-profit making financial services providers run by their own members, to provide local communities access to simple saving schemes and low cost loans at fair and reasonable rates.

Running credit unions in a non-profit way means that any profit generated is used to provide better services to members and not to pay outside shareholders. Any monies leftover after this are shared out amongst members each year as a bonus on their savings.

Anyone who lives or works in Kirklees can join a credit union.
