What is the grant for?

It is to help community and voluntary groups set up arts and cultural projects and events by contributing towards the costs. Projects must be wholly or mainly for the benefit of Kirklees residents and involve Kirklees residents.

Application dates and documents


2009/2010
  • Round 1 - Deadline for receipt of applications is 30 April 2009 (for projects taking place after 1 August 2009)
  • Round 2 - Deadline for receipt of applications is 31 August 2009 (for projects taking place after 1 December 2009)
  • Round 3 - Deadline for receipt of applications is 31 December 2009 (for projects taking place after 1 April 2010)

Successful Applicants

Over £25,000 was awarded to 15 local arts organisations in the last round of awards from Kirklees Cultural & Leisure Services in their Arts in the Neighbourhood scheme 2008/2009.

Nearly £10,000 was awarded to 6 local organisations in the first round of awards in 2009/2010.
