| History | The Colne Valley Tree Society is a registered charity, which over the past 40 years has played an important part in creating and maintaining the beautiful valley landscape.
Founded in 1964 by Dr Phillips, the Society has already planted over 250,000 trees, returning indigenous British tree species to industrial waste sites and unused agricultural land all along the valley.
The Society works with local residents and landowners, Kirklees, the Forestry Commission and companies such as Yorkshire Water.
