Welcome Scheme
Kirklees Culture and Leisure Services
A 'WELCOME!' at more libraries than ever before!
Libraries in a variety of buildings - including colleges and a hospital - have opened their doors to anyone living, working or studying in Kirklees in the new WELCOME! scheme.
This is in addition to all the services already provided at a total of 23 branch, seven mobile, and four home service libraries run by Kirklees Libraries and Information Service.
You can now also use the printed collections at:
- Connexions Centres in High St, Huddersfield, Dewsbury Library and Alexandra St, Halifax;
- the University of Huddersfield; Dewsbury College; and Calderdale Public Libraries;
- and by appointment at: Huddersfield Technical College; Huddersfield New College; Greenhead College; Calderdale College and the NHS Trust libraries at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital.
Led by Kirklees Council and Huddersfield University, the WELCOME! scheme is a network of partners who joined together to open their libraries to everyone in Kirklees. It is the result of a year-long project funded by Resource, the government agency for museums, libraries and archives.
