Enquire, Discover and Read
are new internet services to help everyone make the most of the online world: to enquire, discover and read online
for free 24/7 from anywhere with access to the web.
It's just like going to your local public library to ask for help or find information, but doing it online from anywhere at any time instead. Libraries across England are working together to bring you these valued and trusted services from one website so you can get the information you need when you need it most.

Kirklees Libraries are launching a new enquiry service, available to you online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 'Enquire' is a real time reference service, allowing you to ask a Librarian a question over the Internet and receive an immediate reponse.
Librarians will find the information you need over the Internet and send the webpage direct to your computer while you wait. An email of the discussion will then be sent to you for future reference.
Please note that this is a national enquiry service staffed during the daytime by librarians
from all around Britain and during the evening and overnight by librarians from the United States and Australia.

Discover
Discover offers you a personal guide through the web and its hidden treasures. It is a single point of access to a wide range of resources such as news and quick reference website links to information on collections and objects from museums, libraries, archives and national e-government services. Discover provides a single safe place to quickly access many resources, given a stamp of approval and added value from trusted public libraries and public funding bodies.

Read
Read is a great place to start to get into books and reading online and helps bring readers together, either to meet up face to face or on the web.
Here you can meet with others online to talk about your favourite and less favourite reads or find out where to hook up with a reading group in your local area using Find a reading group.
There are also some great websites for all types of readers featured in Reading links to help turn everyone onto books and reading.
Read brings the special relationship and tradition that Englands public libraries have with books and reading into the online world.
