Julian's role is to protect and conserve Castle Hill and support its visitors. He is responsible for assisting in the management of the site. He plans and supervises activities and events to increase people's understanding and enjoyment of Castle Hill. He also develops partnership working with other council departments and external organisations.

Julian supports the development of small scale tree and community orchard planting schemes. He works with allotment groups on the restoration and improvement of allotment sites across Kirklees, and with schools in the establishment and use of food growing projects. He also promotes of allotment gardening to the wider public at events, and organises training events in horticultural techniques for members of the public.

John Gleadow
Countryside Access Officer
John is responsible for non-legal aspects of countryside access. He promotes and publishes information about walking and riding routes, and produces countryside events programmes. He also develops partnership working with other council departments and other external organisations that have an interest in countryside access issues.

Countryside Officer
Simon is responsible for managing Local Nature Reserves for people and wildlife. He provides training and conservation projects for volunteers and community groups. He also delivers environmental education activities and works in partnership with other environmental organisations on conservation projects in Kirklees.

Countryside officer for Denby Dale Parish Countryside Project
Andy supports practical conservation tasks within the parish on public and private land, and promotes environmental education. He encourages all members of the community to become actively involved in access to the countryside. He also promotes and raises awareness of the wildlife, heritage and landscape within the parish.
