All the below sensors connect to a Carephone

Bed Occupancy Sensor Senses when someone is in or out of bed during certain times of the day or night
Can automatically turn on a bedside light when the person gets out of bed
If person is out of bed for a long time it can automatically call the Carephone Home Safety Service in case they have fallen or need other help
For people who:
- might fall during the night
- struggle with small switches
- are elderly or frail
- have limited mobility, such as arthritis
- are receiving medication
Burglar Alarm
A simple to use house alarm system. It has one button which turns the alarm on or off and can be used from anywhere in or just outside the house
When it detects movement it automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service.
For people who:- don’t have a house alarm
- can’t ‘rush upstairs’ after setting their alarm, or might be at risk of falling if they do
- struggle to use an alarm number pad
- struggle to understand a standard house alarm
- might regularly forget their security code
Carbon Monoxide Detector
Detects Carbon Monoxide and automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service.For people who have gas appliances in their home.
Enuresis Sensor Enuresis is a term to describe the involuntary discharge of urine, especially during sleep.
Detects enuresis whilst sleeping as soon as it occurs and alerts a carer, without the intrusion of regular checks.
For people who are affected by Enuresis.
The person must have a carer available to provide appropriate care when needed.
Epilepsy Sensor
Detects epileptic seizures whilst sleeping and automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service. For people with and might have a seizure during the night, leaving them unable to call for assistance
Fall Detector Detects when a person has fallen and automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service
For people who:
- are at risk of falling
- are worried about falling
- have fallen in the past
- have limited mobility
- are wheelchair users
Not suitable for people who are quite active.
Flood Detector
Detects water on the floor and automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service.
For people who:
- might accidentally leave taps turned on
- might not notice water sitting on the floor and could slip / fall because of it
Gas Detector
Detects gas leaking from household gas appliances and automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service.
For people who
- may accidentally leave gas taps turned on
- can’t smell gas leaks
- can’t recognise the smell of a gas leak
- have dementia or other mental health needs
- have learning disabilities
- have poor memory or memory loss
Property Exit Sensor
Recognises when someone has left their property at a time that is unsafe or unsuitable and automatically calls their carer.
Logs the time the person left and how long they have been gone for, which is important information if someone is missing.
For people who are prone to going out walking when it isn't safe, healthy or appropriate, and may put themselves or others at risk
Smoke DetectorDetects smoke and automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service. For people who don’t have a smoke detector.
Everyone should have a Smoke Detector Temperature Extremes Sensor Detects when temperatures are too high, or rising rapidly, and there may be a risk of fire
Detects when temperatures are too low for a long period, which could affect health
Automatically calls the Carephone Home Safety Service.
For people who
- cook and could accidentally start a fire
- may not adequately heat their home during winter
- have dementia or other mental health needs
- have learning disabilities
