Neil: My name is Neil. Living independently is fantastic. Without the Colne Valley Scheme it would be rather difficult and the scheme really helped me do everything. I look forward to seeing my support workers because without their help I couldn’t do the things that I do now. The Colne Valley Scheme come to support me with shopping, finances and everything else.

Support Worker Orvill [to Neil checking finances]: See, your Yorkshire Water has come out, and your TV license. and that’s just your benefits that’s gone in, on a weekly and monthly basis. You’ve seen your bills and it’s updated. Are there any other issues you’d like me to deal with?

Neil: No

Orvil: Are you happy with it?

Neil: Yes I’m happy with that.

Orvil: Can I close the file now?

Neil: Yes

Orvil: Right then that’s fine

Neil: I can do a lot of things independently, by myself, but when I struggle the support workers come and help me do the stuff that I struggle with. Sometimes I have problems with the duvet and the staff help me to do it. If I get stuck I speak to people at the Colne Valley Scheme and they will just give me some advice me on what to do. I have a telephone number for the Colne Valley Scheme, and when I need support and help there is always someone at the end of the line, that give me support.
