Moira: My name is Moira. I own my own bungalow and live by myself.
The things I like best about my bungalow is it’s my own, and I can come and go as I please, and I make my own choices, and I can eat and drink what I like especially - coca-cola!
The nicest thing about having your own space is you can keep what you want and nobody can make you throw things away you want to keep.
I have a kitchen and dining room which I spend most of my time in there. I have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and then I have a little attic room where I hang on to things and keep things. I really like my garden, it’s nice and quiet and peaceful, and in the summer we’ll be getting some more fruit on the fruit trees, and it’s beginning to blossom now a bit.
I like my neighbours very much. They are very good people and they are very kind and they always do things for me and I do things for them and we get on really well. One neighbour made me a cake for Easter last week and the next door neighbours will help me in any kind of trouble if I need something doing that I can’t do myself. Well, sometimes I buy them plants and things and sometimes when I get things from Sainsbury’s – buy one get one free and then take what I don’t need for Rosemary – Mr & Mrs Cardy, that’s across there.
My friends ring me up when they come, well I let them in and we have a drink or anything, whatever we want – tea, coffee or coke or lemonade.
I get support from the Colne Valley Scheme, and advice. If there’s something I can’t do I’ll ask them about it.
I’ve a lot of time to watch videos but I just record them for when I do have time to sit and watch them, because I have my jobs to do when I come in from work placement – keeping up with chores and hygiene and washing.
The most favourite thing about my house is I can keep everything I want to keep, choose want I want to cook for my tea, buy what food I want from the shops, and yes, I like living here.
