Want more information about Person Centred Planning?

These books may be useful….

“A Little Book about Person Centred Planning” by John O’Brien. Available from www.inclusiononline.co.uk.

“People, Plans and Possibilities” by Helen Sanderson, Jo Kennedy, Pete Ritchie and Gill Goodwin. This book can be ordered from most book shops in the UK. It is more complicated than the previous book but is an easy read, although both books are not very accessible.

And the following websites are good….

Department of Health - Valuing People Support Team

www.doh.gov.uk/vpst

Good site for simple accessible information about person centred planning.

Has two brilliant documents available on-line that explain what person centred planning is.

One is for families and can be downloaded at: ( www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Publications/PublicationsPolicyAndGuidance/DH_4009374)

…..and one is for people with learning disabilities ( www.publications.doh.gov.uk/learningdisabilities/planning.htm).

North-West Training and Development Team

www.nwtdt.com

A brilliant site for various resources about person centred planning, especially the person centred planning tool “Essential Lifestyle Planning” which some people in Kirklees are trained to use.

Paradigm

www.paradigm-uk.org

There are many articles resources and training events about person centred planning on this site.

Inclusion Press

www.inclusion.com

This site highlights why inclusion is important in person centred planning. There are also good explanations of the person centred planning tools “MAPS” and “PATH” again tools that some people in Kirklees have been trained to use.
