If you are interested in providing a temporary or permanent home to a disabled child in Kirklees please think about fostering. All you need is Space in your life, space in your home.

Kirklees Council has a responsibility to find foster homes and permanent homes for children and young people who need them.

Kirklees Family Placement Unit recruits foster carers and adoptive carers for children with disabilities.
If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a foster carer for a child who may have physical or learning disabilities, a sensory impairment or a combination of special needs we would like to hear from you.

If you would like to become a foster carer for a child not known to you we can offer you:
  • Training
  • Support from a professional worker
  • An allowance for caring for the child
  • A skills payment for the time you devote to fostering.
